Germany finished off their U20 European Championship for Women by handing Romania their first loss of the relegation round, winning 75-68 in Grobina.
Pia Mankertz scored 13 points while Astrid Ramcke added 11 points and Svenja Brunckhorst chipped in 10 rebounds to improve Germany's relegation record to 4-2. Gabriela Munteanu tallied 14 points and Andreea Pop and Bianca Barba each scored 13 points as Romania dropped to 5-1.
Romania and Germany will remain in Division A of the U20 European Championship for Women for 2011 after both nations booked victories in the penultimate day of relegation round action, sending Sweden and Bulgaria to Division B.
Cristina Bigica scored 23 points to pace four players in double figures as Romania beat Sweden 80-53 to remain undefeated in the relegation group at 5-0. And Germany eased past Bulgaria 85-53 to move to 3-2 with Anna-Lisa Rexroth leading four players in double digits with 16 points.
Romania won their fourth straight game in the relegation round of the U20 European Championship for Women with a 62-41 victory over Bulgaria while Sweden beat Germany 67-64.
Cristina Bigica had 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead Romania, who improved to 4-0 in the relegation group.
